Marie Reamer - Fine Art Photography Born and raised in NJ, Marie developed a passion for photography while earning a BS in Chemistry at the University of Utah. After earning an MS in Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Connecticut, she arrived in Indianapolis in 1979 to work as a research chemist for Eli Lilly & Company. Over the past 25 years, Marie has received numerous awards for her photographic images in local competitions. Her photographs have been published in Indianapolis Monthly Magazine and the Visitor’s Guide to Indianapolis. After retiring from Lilly, she lived in England with her family for 2 years, where she traveled extensively throughout Europe, capturing many unique images. She returned to Indianapolis in 1999, where she resides with her husband, Russ Barton, and their 15 year-old son, Peter. Website: www.mreamerimages.com

Artist Statement

Through my photography, I strive to capture vignettes of our remarkable world as seen through the camera’s lens. Using available light, I attempt to produce an image using the combination of light and color that evokes an emotional response from the viewer. Through the medium of photography, I have found a means of creative expression that allows me to feel more connected to our world. The ability to share this connection with the viewer is my ultimate goal.
